The Cae Brics Spaniels

A little bit about the girls we have here. They are all fully DNA health tested and very fit, healthy dogs. All of the girls are from working lines, and whilst they all have the drive required to be working dogs, they also have 'off' switches which make them ideal pets. Each has their own characteristics though, which I find fascinating.

Pip
Pip was bred in Scotland, she is KC Registered with an excellent pedigree and has a strong working background. Pip is smaller than the other girls in size but not in personality. She is definitely the 'lady' and the most affectionate of the group, much preferring to be stroked and cuddled by everyone she sees and has no time for unruly ball playing or fetch.

She loves walks as do most dogs, but really loves car trips. She will jump into the car and wait for a trip whether she has been promised one or not.

On walks she is excellent off-lead, will run, swim, jump, but switches straight back to calm to have her lead back on.

Isla

Isla is KC registered from a strong working line, with both parents working on local shoots. She was bred by a gamekeeper to work until Covid hit and she came to me. Isla is very calm natured and has excellent recall on a walk. Her main passion in life is retrieving - balls or sticks - that's what she's doing in the -picture above. She is very well mannered and a pleasure to be around.

She learns very quickly and really looks to please all of the time.

She does like to 'show off' when out on a run and jumps over stiles and gates - backwards and forwards. Luckily it hasn't occurred to her to do this at home.

Millie

Millie was bred locally with both parents known to me and working on the local shoot. she has a strong working pedigree and is KC registered.

Millie is a very calm dog and loves to go with the flow. She is really happy to play ball, go for a run, go in the car, do training or just sit and have a cuddle.

I bought Millie at 8 weeks old, which is younger than the others when they came here. I have always taken her places and done things with her, such as beach, cafes, days out, as she is such an easy dog to be around.

Millie has also done some mantrailing and scentwork classes and looking to continue with this as she loves it and has a real talent for using her nose.

Millie had her first litter in May 2022 of springer spaniels. She was a very dedicated mum and pups have all inherited her calm nature - hope so anyway as I have kept one for myself.

Lolly

Lolly is a local girl. Dad has an excellent pedigree and works on the local shoot. Mum is a family pet, living with small children, hence Lolly has been brought up in a mix of environments and excels in them all. Lolly is the most confident and intelligent of the dogs, she is very easy to train and understands verbal, whistle and indication commands. She is excellent to walk.

I run her off lead whenever safe to do so, if I see her going a bit further than I like, whistle and she literally turns on a sixpence and comes back. Often comes back anyway to check I'm ok. She will wait for a stroke then runs again. She is calm, sensible and well mannered.
